Policies
Our commitment is to offer our guests a professional and therapeutic massage experience. The policies and procedures outlined below serve as a guideline for both first-time visitors and regular patrons of Back and Bodywork Massage.
Arrival to Your Massage: For new clients, we recommend arriving a few minutes before the scheduled start time to fill out the necessary client form and prepare for the service. This ensures a relaxed and unhurried experience, considering the specific time schedule allocated for each massage.
Cancellation Policy: We kindly request a minimum of 5 hours' notice for rescheduling or canceling appointments. This allows us adequate time to fill the vacant slot. Clients failing to cancel within 5 hours on multiple occasions (2 or more) may be required to pre-pay for future services.
Late Arrival Policy: Regrettably, late arrivals will not extend scheduled appointments. In certain cases, and if our schedule permits, we might accommodate a partial or full appointment at our discretion, provided there is advanced notification of the late arrival. The original reservation fee will still apply.
No Show Policy: Clients who miss appointments will be charged 100% of the service fee and may be asked to pre-pay for future services. This policy ensures that our massage therapists are appropriately compensated for the reserved time slots. Your understanding in adhering to these policies is greatly appreciated. At Back and Bodywork Massage, we recognize that unexpected circumstances can arise in everyone's life, such as car issues, traffic delays, business commitments, and project deadlines, which may lead to the consideration of canceling a massage appointment.

INFORMED CONSENT
Before each massage session, we will discuss the treatment plan with you. During your initial visit, you'll receive a copy of our massage therapy policies, and we'll request your signature on the consent form, acknowledging that you've read, understood, and agree to comply with our professional massage therapy policies and procedures. Clients who haven't visited us in at least a year will also be required to complete this form.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE
Our therapists at Back and Bodywork Massage are licensed professionals adhering to the highest standards of the American Massage Therapy Association. Massage Therapy is a profession involving manual techniques and adjunctive therapies intended to positively impact the client's health and well-being. Massage Therapists, however, do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions without doctor supervision. Referral for diagnosis and adherence to physician recommendations are required.
RESPECT FOR CLIENT NEEDS AND BOUNDARIES
We prioritize your comfort at Back and Bodywork Massage. Therapists are flexible in adjusting pressure, temperature, musical volume, and the duration spent on specific areas according to your preferences. You have the right to leave on as much clothing as needed, refuse certain massage methods, stop the massage at any time, and leave freely. The client will always be modestly draped, with only the area being massaged left exposed. Any emotional response during the massage is welcome to be expressed or kept private, as the client is in control.
PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
The breasts and genital area will not be massaged under any circumstances, without explicit permission, and a professional distance will be maintained. Sexual interaction or discussion between the client and therapist is legally inappropriate.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND CONVERSATION
The discussion between the massage therapist and client is confidential. Clients may choose to talk or not during the massage. While we are happy to listen and share professional expertise within our scope of practice, we are not counselors and cannot offer advice.
